  • They can choose any fruits, vegetables, and other foods for preparation.

It gets the baby used to eat the same food as the rest of the family — just in puree form.

3.1. Oatmeal with Banana:

The perfect breakfast recipe packed with enough fiber and vitamins.

Oats also are great for releasing energy slowly.

So it keeps your child fuller for longer and healthier.

Ingredients Needed 

  • 1 small cup of Rolled oats.
  • 1 small cup of Almond milk or water.
  • Some chopped bananas.
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.

How to Prepare 

  • Cook the oats slowly with some almond milk in a pan.
  • Stir occasionally.
  • Once it’s nice and soft, add a dash of cinnamon for a slight sweetness.
  • Before serving, add chopped bananas on top, taste it.
  • Then serve it or feed the kid.

3.2. Avocado On Toast:

Avocado is rich in natural, healthy fat and meets the daily intake of fat required.

It improves the digestion system of your kid.

Ingredients Needed 

  • 1 large ripe avocado
  • 1 banana (if required)
  • A couple of slices of bread (whole wheat)
  • Some cheese, it is not compulsory

Pumpkin is packed with Vitamin A which is great for maintaining the skin and makes for a wonderful snack.

Ingredients Needed 

  • 1 canned pumpkin.
  • ½ teaspoon salt to taste.
  • ½ teaspoon pepper.
  • A dash of lemon if required.

How to Prepare 

  • Take everything and put them in a bowl and whip them together for some time.

Serve with slices of apple or cucumber

3.4. Tinda Dal:

You Will Need:

  • 100g chopped Tinda (apple gourd).
  • 6 A teaspoon of yellow Moong dal (split yellow gram).
  • ½ Teaspoon of cumin seeds.
  • ¼ Teaspoon of asafoetida
  • ¼ Teaspoon of turmeric powder.
  • 2 A teaspoon of grated coconut.
  • 1 A teaspoon of garam masala (curry powder).
  • 1 A teaspoon of jaggery.
  • 1 A teaspoon of chopped coriander leaves.
  • 1 A teaspoon of oil.
  • Salt as per taste.

How To make:

  1. Wash the dal and soak it in water.
  2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker.
  3. Now add the cumin seeds, and when they begin to splutter.
  4. Add the asafoetida, garam masala, jaggery, and turmeric powder.
  5. Add the Tinda (apple gourd) and sauté for a minute.
  6. Add the dal and salt. Mix well.
  7. Now, add the water and then let the dal cook.
  8. Once the pressure cooker releases steam.
  9. Open the lid and add the grated coconut.
  10. Cook for a minute.

3.5. Green Peas and Potato Puree:

Green peas are rich in calcium, iron and Vitamins A and C.

Green Peas and Potato Puree For Babies preparation:

INGREDIENTS-

  • 1 large or 2 small Potatoes
  • A handful of Green Peas
  • Salt to taste (optional)

METHOD-

  1. Peel the potatoes and roughly chop them into small chunks.
  2. Take the chopped potatoes and washed green peas in a steel bowl.
  3.  Add ½ tsp salt.
  4. Add about 2 cups of water to a pressure cooker.
  5.  Place this bowl in the cooker and pressure-cook the veggies for 2 whistles.
  6. Wait for the pressure to release naturally before opening the lid.
  7. Transfer the cooked potatoes and green peas in a grinder jar adding i cup of water.
  8. Add more water to adjust the required consistency.

3.6. Ragi Halwa:

You Will Need:

  • 1 cup of Ragi
  • ¾ cup of jaggery
  • 1/4 cup of pure ghee (clarified butter).
  • 1 teaspoon of cardamom powder.
  • 1 cup of coconut milk.
  • 4 to 5 Cashew nuts.

How To make:

  • Soak the Ragi overnight in water.
  • Wash the Ragi properly and drain the water.
  • Grind it along with one cup of water so that you get a smooth paste.
  • 4. Use a muslin cloth to sieve the paste.

In a pan, add the Ragi milk, coconut milk, jaggery, ghee.

and cardamom powder.

Let the mixture come to a boil and keep stirring continuously.

Cook until the mix thickens.

Remove it from the heat.

Garnish with the cashew nuts before service.

3.7. Vegetable Pulao:

  • 1 cup of rice( fine rice).
  • Chopped vegetables of your choice.
  • ¼ Teaspoon of ghee (clarified butter).
  • A pinch of cumin seeds.
  • A pinch of turmeric powder.
  • A pinch of cumin powder.
  • A small bay leaf.
  • Freshly chopped coriander leaves.
  • Salt as per taste, should not be salty.

How To make:

  1. Wash the rice and soak it in water for 1/2  hr.
  2. Heat the ghee in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds.
  3. Once the seeds start to crackle, add the bay leaf.
  4. Add turmeric and cumin powder.
  5. Add water and cook on a low flame for I whistle.
  6. Now tasty Baby food is ready.

3.8. Masala Poha:

You Will Need:

  • 1 cup of Poha (flattened rice).
  • 2 A teaspoon of roasted groundnuts.
  • 1 chopped onion.
  • Salt as per taste.
  • 1 A teaspoon of Oil preferred mustered oil.

For Tempering:

  • ¼ Teaspoon of mustard seeds.
  • 4 curry leaves.
  • 1/4Tea spoon of cumin seeds.
  • A pinch of turmeric powder.

How To make:

  1. Soak the Poha (Flattened Rice) in lukewarm water for five minutes. Squeeze out the water and keep the Poha (Flattened rice) aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a pantheon add some mustard seeds.
  3. Once it starts to splutter, add the cumin seeds and the curry leaves.
  4. Add the onion and sauté for a minute.
  5. Add now turmeric powder, salt, and the ground nuts.
  6. Cook for a minute.
  7. Add the Poha (Flattened Rice) and stir well. Cook for a few minutes and serve.

3.9. Mixed Dal Rice:

You Will Need:

  • ½ cup of rice
  • ½ cup of mixed dal – mung ki dal, Masur ki dal, urad ki dal, tur ki dal, chana  Ki dal.
  • 2 A teaspoon of ghee (clarified butter).
  • 1 A teaspoon of cumin seeds.
  • A pinch of mustard seeds.
  • 2 curry leaves.
  • Salt as per taste.
  • 3 cups of water.
  • Chopped vegetables of choice – optional.

How To make:

  1. Melt the ghee (clarified butter) in a pressure cooker.
  2. Add some cumin seeds and once they start to splutter, add the mustard seeds and the curry leaves.
  3. Add all the dals and rice. Stir well.
  4. Add the chopped vegetables now.
  5. Add the salt and water. Cook for a few minutes and close the lid.
  6. Cook for about six to eight whistles.

3.10. Gajar Ka Paratha:

Carrots are GOOD for kids, so mix them up with flour and make this delicious and simple paratha for breakfast.

You can serve this with chutney and yogurt.

Ingredients-

  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1-1/2 cups Carrot (Gajjar), grated
  • 1 cup Coriander (Dhania) Leaves, chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin (Jeera) powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Ghee, or oil for smearing

How to make Gajar Paratha Recipe-

  1. To begin making the Gajar Paratha.
  2. we will first make the dough.
  3. Add in the flour and a pinch of salt into a large bowl.
  4. Add a little water on it.
  5. Knead well for about 3 to 4 minutes, this will make the parathas soft. Drizzle a teaspoon of oil over the dough and knead for another couple of minutes.
  6. Cover and keep aside till we make the Gajar filling for the Paratha.
  7. Next, we will combine the grated carrots, green chilies, coriander leaves, cumin powder, and salt.
  8. Stir to combine the ingredients well. We fill by using the raw carrots as stuffing as they will get cooked while cooking the parathas.
  9. Now to begin making the Gajar Paratha, keep some flour aside for dusting.
  10. Divide the dough into large lemon size balls.
  11. Dust the dough portions in flour, flatten it and roll it into a 3-inch diameter circle.
  12. Place the Gajar filling on half side of the circle and close the Paratha by folding it with the other half.
  13. Yes, it’s as simple as that. We will have a semi-circle oval shape.
  14. Press the sides of the Paratha down to seal the edges and gently using the rolling pin to flatten it.
  15. Take care, the filling can ooze out if the dough is rolled out too thin.
  16. Now to cook the Gajar Paratha, first preheat the skillet on medium heat.
  17. Place the rolled Paratha on top and allow it to cook on one side.
  18. After about 10 to 15 seconds, flip the Paratha.

At this stage, smear some oil or ghee to cook the Paratha.

Cook the Paratha by flipping over a couple of times until you see golden brown spots on both sides.

INGREDIENTS:

FOR THE ULTIMATE VANILLA MILKSHAKE-

 

4 large scoops (about 1 1/2 c.) vanilla ice cream

1/4 c. milk

Reddi Whip, for garnish

Sprinkles, for garnish

Maraschino cherry, for garnish

3.11.  Milk Shake:

And is still filling and wholesome.

You can make mango milkshake, banana milkshake, papaya milkshake, cheeku milkshake, avocado milkshake etc.

DIRECTIONS-

MAKE VANILLA MILKSHAKE-

  1. Use a blender and, blend together ice cream & milk.
  2. Pour into a glass and add with Reddi Whip, sprinkles, and a cherry.

3.12. Almond Shake:

Ingredients-

US Customary – Metric

  • 5cups filtered water (less to thicken, more to thin)
  • 1pinch sea salt
  • 2whole dates (optional // pitted // or other sweetener of choice // omit for unsweetened)
  • 1tea spoon vanilla extract (optional // or sub 1 vanilla bean, scraped per 1 teaspoon  extract // omit for plain)
  • 2Tea spoon cocoa powder (optional // for “chocolate milk”)
  • 1/2cup berries (optional // for “berry milk”)

Instructions

  1. And blend until creamy and smooth.
  2. Keep it running for at least 1-2 minutes so you get the most out of your almonds.
  3. Strain using a nut milk bag or my favorite trick – a thin dishtowel.
  4. Simply lay a clean dish towel over a mixing bowl, pour over the almond milk, carefully gather the corners, and lift up.
  5. Shake well before drinking and, as it tends to separate.

3.13. Mediterranean Salad:

Lightly tossed vegetables and greens mixed with some lemon dressing is a smart option for a quick meal.

Ingredients Needed- 

  • 1 cup of cooked quinoa.
  • 1/4 cup – olive oil.
  • 1/3 cup – vinegar, red wine.
  • 1/2 medium – onion (red).
  • 1 medium – bell pepper.

  • 2 medium – tomato( red).
  • 8 jumbo – black olives, canned.
  • 1 cup – cilantro.
  • 1/2 teaspoon – salt.
  • 1/2 teaspoon – black pepper, ground.
  • 2 ounce – feta cheese crumbles.
  • 1 medium – lemon.

How to Prepare –

  • Take the cooked quinoa and keep it aside in a bowl
  • Dice up all the vegetables and add a small portion of olive oil to a pan and toss onions, bell pepper, tomato and cilantro
  • Add the quinoa and veggies to a bowl and sprinkle some feta crumbs on top.

3.14. Tomato And Carrot Soup:



Ingredients

  • Carrot: 1
  • Tomato: 1
  • Onion: 2 tbsp. finely chopped
  • Garlic: 1small clove finely chopped
  • Butter: 1 Tsp

  • Cumin seeds: ¼ tsp
  • Pepper powder: a pinch
  • Water: 1.5 cups
  • Salt

How To Cook

  • Clean the vegetables thoroughly and chop them into small cubes.
  • Sauté onions and garlic until translucent
  • Add carrot and tomato with enough water. Also, add salt and pepper.
  • Bring it to a boil
  • Pressure cook it to 3 whistles on a medium flame
  • Grind and strain
  • If you do not wish to strain, remember to blanch the tomatoes and peel off the skin.
  • Serve it Lukewarm.

3.15. Apple Khichdi:

You Will Need:

  • 100g rice
  • 30g Moong dal
  • 1 apple
  • ¼ Teaspoon of cinnamon powder.
  • Salt as per taste.

How To make:

  1. Soak the rice and dal together for approx  20 minutes.
  2. Add water in a pressure cooker and then add the rice and dal.
  3. Cook for five whistles.
  4. Once the steam releases then add the apple puree, salt and cinnamon powder to the cooked rice and dal mix.

3.16. Milk Rice:

You Will Need:

  • ½ cup of rice.

4 cups milk.

  • ½ Teaspoon of salt.
  • ½ cup of boiled corn.
  • ½ Teaspoon of sugar (optional).

How To make:

  1. Boil the milk and add the rice small quantity then Keep stirring until the rice cooks completely.
  2. Once the mix starts becoming thick then add the salt. If your baby likes a sweet taste, you can add a little sugar too.
  3. Add the boiled corn and a little water then cook for some more time. Remove it from the heat and use this.

3.17. Pumpkin Rice:

You Will Need:

  • ¼ cup of rice.
  • 1 A teaspoon of Moong dal.
  • 1 cup of chopped red pumpkin.
  • A pinch of salt.
  • A pinch of pepper powder.
  • 1 ½ cups of water.
  • 1 A teaspoon of Ghee (clarified butter).

How To make:

  1. Wash the rice and dal.
  2. Add all the ingredients in a pressure cooker and then cook for about four to five whistles.
  3. Remove from heat and then puree the mixture in a food processor
  4. Serve with a topping of ghee (clarified butter).

3.18. Broken Wheat Upma:

Prepare time: 10 min

Cook: 30 min

 Ingredients  –     

1/2 cup broken wheat (Dalia)
2 teaspoon oil
1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
2 teaspoon finely chopped green chilies
1/2 cup chopped onions
1/2 teaspoon grated ginger (adrak)
1/4 cup green peas
1/4 cup chopped carrot
salt to taste

METHOD FOR MAKING BROKEN WHEAT UPMA RECIPE-

Heat 1/2 teaspoon ghee in a cooking vessel, add the broken wheat and toast it on low flame for 6-7 mints.

Turn off heat and wash it thoroughly.

Drain water and set aside.

Add cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, cloves, and asafoetida and curry leaves and sauté them till a nice aroma emanates the kitchen.

Add the chopped onions, green chilies, and ginger and sauté for 4 min.

Add the turmeric powder and mix.

Add the chopped tomatoes and sauté on medium heat for 4 min.

Add 4 1/2 cups of hot water and bring to a boil. (Be careful as you add the hot water to the cracked wheat, it will splutter)

Reduce heat and slowly add the cracked wheat to the water then stir it gently.

Place lid and simmer for 20-22 minutes or till the water is completely evaporated and the upma is done.

Turn off heat then remove it.

Garnish with some coriander leaves in it.

3.19. Ragi And Oats Ladoo:

You Will Need:

  • 1 cup of Ragi flour.
  • ½ cup of oats.
  • 1½ Teaspoon of ghee (clarified butter).
  • 1 A teaspoon of cardamom powder.
  • 1 cup of Jaggery.
  • 12 cashew nuts.

How To make:

  1. Roast the oats in a non-stick pan for a minute.
  2. Grind the roasted oats in a blender to make a fine powder.
  3. Melt the ghee (clarified butter) in a pan, and add the Ragi flour.
  4. Roast it for  7 minutes.
  5. Remove the pan from heat and add the jaggery. Mix well to make sure there are no lumps.
  6. Put the Ragi mix in a bowl and add the oats and cardamom powder. Let the mix cool down a little before you start making the Ladoo. Grease your palm by ghee and start making a small ball of laddu.
  7. Add a small cashew nut on top to decorate the Ladoo.

3.20. Paneer Bhurji Sandwich:

You Will Need:

  • 2 slices of brown bread.
  • 100 g fresh paneer (Cottage Cheese).
  • 1 chopped onion.
  • ½ cup of finely chopped tomato.
  • Finely chopped fresh coriander leaves.
  • ½ Teaspoon of ghee (clarified butter).
  • A pinch of turmeric powder.
  • A pinch of salt.
  • 1 A teaspoon of butter.

How To make:

  1. Take the paneer (Cottage Cheese) and keep it aside and Heat the ghee (clarified butter) in a pan.
  2. And add the onions.
  3. Sauté until it turns transparent then Add the tomatoes and cook a little.
  4. Now, add the turmeric powder, salt and paneer (Cottage Cheese) then Mix well.
  5. And add the coriander leaves.
  6. Cook for  5 minutes and remove from heat.

3.21. Grape juice:

It is delicious but is it good for the baby?

Introducing your child to new foods and drinks can be fun and  Parents often wonder.

When their child is ready to have juice.

How to prepare?

Ingredients

  • 2 cups seedless grapes.
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice.
  • 1 ½ teaspoon sugar.
  • A pinch of black salt (Kala namak).
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger (optional).

  • Ice cubes.
  • Garnish with mint leaves.

Method

  • Use a blender then, add green grapes, lemon juice, black salt, ginger and sugar in it.
  • Blend them till the mixture is smooth.
  • Strain using the strainer in a bowl.
  • Serve chilled in glasses.

Note:

  • Adjust the amount of sugar in it.
  • You can add few mint leaves also.
