The rise of the #metoo India movement in India is spreading and about to set to ensure a tectonic shift in work culture and gender equations.
We are entering a new era.
“Yes, a person is innocent until proven as guilty but must it come at the cost of rejecting a survivor’s account?” Actress Sonam Kapoor said.

Tata Motors was prompt to react to these allegations and came out with an important statement saying-
“At Tata Motors said that we have always striven to ensure a respectful and safe workplace for everyone.
Any allegations are investigated and judge then appropriate action is taken immediately. This matter has already been taken up for investigation by our Internal Complaints Committee and, set up as per law.
Any such behavior is against the Tata code of conduct will be taken seriously and appropriate action will be taken as soon the enquiry is completed.”
MJ Akbar has commissioned a team of lawyers from Karanjawala and Co., a Delhi-based law firm that will handle the case.
His lawyers told the court that Ms. Ramani’s article and tweets have spoiled his reputation and goodwill which built over 40 years.
The court found merit in the arguments and agreed to take up Mr. Akbar’s case.
Mr. Akbar, who was not present today, has been told to record his statement before the court on October 31.

BCCI CEO Rahul Johri on Tuesday has given a statement before the three-member probe panel that is appointed by the Committee of Administrators (CoA) as he targeted on sexual harassment.
It is still not clear of the probe panel comprising Allahabad High Court judge (Retd) Rakesh Sharma, former Delhi Commission of Women (DCW) chairperson Barkha Singh and lawyer-activist Veena Gowda will seek more time for investigation purpose.
The panel is to submit its report to the CoA on November 15.
Last year, the #MeToo-movement started in Hollywood after producer Harvey Weinstein was accused of sexual harassment by several women.

Just recently Tanushree Dutta took it upon herself to speak up about an incident that happened on the sets of the film Horn Ok Pleases about ten years ago.
She told her story in 2008 but at that time it wasn’t taken seriously.
Nobody supported her.
Today various actresses expressed their support to her.
Nobody saw this tsunami of stories coming.
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray on Wednesday called actor Nana Patekar “indecent”, but said he believes the actor-activist, accused of sexual harassment by actor Tanushree Dutta, is innocent.
I know Nana Patekar.
He is indecent. He does crazy things but I don’t think he can do such a thing.
Court will look into it. What is the media to do with it?

Kubera added: “You can’t rant against someone and be taken seriously.
If she (Niharika Singh) said Nawaz was a bad actor, there would be his body of work to disprove her.
Kubera tweeted: “A relationship gone sour, isn’t #metoo India
someone needs to recognize the toxic difference before we go picking sides… I stand by #NawazuddinSiddiqui… I stand by the fact that although Niharika Singh may have had a tough time in the industry, categorizing her once personal relationship as a #MeToo statement is incorrectly placed.”
KWAN Entertainment founder Anirban Das Blah also step aside from his position as sexual misconduct allegations against him.
“We have asked Anirban Blah to forthwith step aside from his duties, activities, and responsibilities are KWAN, its subsidiaries, and affiliates with immediate effect,” said a statement issued by the entertainment and marketing company.
“The past few days have been very disturbing to everyone in the light of the #metoo India movement and it has pushed us all to take a step back and introspect whether each of us is doing enough to create a healthy and safe environment,” the statement added.
KWAN has decided to create a “safe and secure” working atmosphere for its employees.
Alok Nath, a famous actor, who is alleged to have sexually harassed famous writer-producer Vinta Nanda 19 years ago.
He has expelled by the Cine and Television Artistes Association (CINTAA).
Sajid Khan was implicated in the #MeToo stories posted by two actresses and one female journalist.
He was accused of behaving inappropriately and sexual harassment by the three women.
After the #MeToo allegations against Sajid Khan, who was directing Houseful 4, actor Akshay Kumar canceled the shoot of the film. Sajid Khan stepped down from his post and pending investigation Farhad Samji took over.
Sandalwood actor Sruthi Hariharan, who has accused popular South Indian actor Arjun Sarja of sexual harassment, has moved the Karnataka High Court requesting it to quash a case registered against her with the Cyber Crime Police.
Sruthi has also appealed to the court to stay the investigation being conducted.
The Cyber Crime Police had registered an FIR under sections 120(b) (criminal conspiracy), 385 (Putting person in fear of injury in order to commit extortion), 34 (common intention), 109 (abetment), 419 (punishment for cheating by impersonation), 114 (abettor present when an offence is committed), 420 (cheating) of IPC read with section 66C (identity theft), 66D (cheating by personation using computer source) of Information Technology Act on October 25.
The #Me Too movement has taken India by a storm and multiple personalities from different fields of life have been accused of sexual harassment & sexual misconduct.
Thousands of women shared their ordeal on social media platforms and allegations of sexual misconduct were leveled against several prominent journalists, Bollywood personalities, politicians, singing even corporate personalities.
Social Media, especially Twitter exploded. Several celebrities have now been accused of sexual harassment.
